Redemption Roasters were approached by the Ministry of Justice to help address the state of reoffending by running their main roastery and barista training centre at Aylesbury Young Offenders Prison.
As part of their mission to help offenders successfully reintegrate into society, they train them in professional roasting and competition-level barista skills. Small batches are roasted for wholesale and retail customers, and used in Redemption cafes on the inside for the prison community and visitors. On release, they also help “graduates” to find work, either directly employing them in their coffee shops, or with their wholesale clients.
You can find Redemption cafes across London in Bloomsbury, Farringdon and Kings Cross serving pastries, cookies, cakes and brownies, as well as a simple food menu. Stop off for a light snack or a bit of brunch to accompany your coffee.
