Silo London is the world’s first Zero Waste restaurant. The concept was conceived from a desire to innovate the food industry whilst demonstrating respect: respect for the environment, respect for the way our food is generated and respect for the nourishment given to our bodies.
All products are delivered to the restaurant in re-usable vessels and anything that isn’t consumed by customers is fed into their aerobic digester, which can generate up to 60kg of compost in just 24hours.
Everything on the menu at Silo is created from its whole form, cutting out food miles and over-processing, whilst preserving nutrients and the integrity of the ingredients in the process.
The zero-waste ethos is reflected throughout the restaurant’s interiors. From plates made out of plastic bags and tables made from reconstituted food packaging, to lightshades made from mycellium grown on used brewing grains and crockery made from crushed wine bottles.
The set tasting menu costs £45 for 5 dishes giving you the opportunity to try a variety of unusual ingredients cooked in unexpected and creative ways.
